The short version
StaylineSSH does not collect, sell or share any personal data. There are no ads, no analytics and no account. Everything you put into the app stays on your phone.
What stays on your phone
- Saved servers: names, host names, user names and ports.
- Keys you create or import. Private keys are encrypted with a key held by the Android Keystore.
- Saved passwords, only if you choose to save one. They are encrypted with a Keystore key that needs your screen lock.
- Trusted host keys, saved commands, command history and settings.
None of this is sent to us. We have no server that could receive it. Uninstalling the app deletes it. Android's own backup is turned off for this data.
Network connections
StaylineSSH connects only to the servers you tell it to, using SSH. It makes no other network connections: no ad networks, no analytics, no crash reporting, no update checks of its own.
Permissions
- Internet and network state: to reach your servers and notice when the connection drops.
- Local network access: only when you connect to a server on your own network (Android asks you first).
- Notifications: to show which sessions are still connected, so you can return to them.
- Foreground service: to keep sessions connected while you use other apps.
Purchases
StaylineSSH Plus is sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we receive no card or billing details. Google's privacy policy covers that purchase.
Children
StaylineSSH is a tool for people who manage servers. It is not aimed at children and collects no data from anyone.
